The ski resort of Zakopane in Poland could soon have its own airport, reports suggest.
Zakopane, which is Poland's best-known mountain city and often referred to as its winter capital, could be directly accessible by air within three years.
While the 200m zloty (£41.7m) project will be based in the city of Nowry Targ, it will be located just 20km away from Zakopane and would deliver a substantial boost to tourism in the area.
Marek Fryzlewicz, mayor of Nowry Targ, said that plans for the project had been rubber-stamped but admitted that no definite schedule has yet been drawn up.

The first phase of the project will be the construction of a 1,600-metre runway with the capacity to handle the movements of several 40- to 50-passenger planes a day.
This will be followed by the development of further infrastructure, such as hotels and commercial space.
